Alert DETR Consultation paper "Control of noise from civil aircraft" seeks to change current noise legislation relating to aircraft noise. Amongst other things, the proposals seek to grant local authorities the power to agree and enforce noise amelioration schemes.

Action The report can be viewed online. Comments are invited, to be received by the DETR (address provided in the report) no later than 13/10/00. Please add your voice in support of comments already made by the GAAC and others.
