Alert |
The
same firm of consultants that Ipswich Borough Council used in their effort to close
Ipswich Airport have been engaged by Medway Council. They have produced a leaflet
"Rochester Airport - Your views on its future" - which is taking a poll on
opinions about 5 development options. The official leaflet has a pre-paid, tick box, tear
off slip to return but it also invites letters. Since the closing date is 30th January and
the leaflets are not being distributed widely we would ask that everyone make the small
effort to send the letter shown below in support of Rochester to the address given. Feel
free to re-word as you see fit. |

Dear Ms Chambers,
I have been told of the options for development of Rochester Airport but am unable to get
a copy of your reply paid leaflet.
My opinion is that development Option A is preferable with Option B or C as second and
third choice.
Aviation should be allowed to continue at Rochester Airport and the amenity of the open
space will benefit all. Small business should be allowed to develop around the airport and
that consideration should be given to financing an all weather runway surface. It is very
good that at last the public are being welcomed onto the Airport by the present operators
to join in with the activities there.
