Back
in March we alerted a threat to the '28 day
planning rule'. This is a planning tool that allows up to 28 days usage of land without
the need for formal planning permission. This planning tool is highly beneficial to small
flying sites which operate under this aspect of planning. As part of it's review on planning policy the government
consulted on the future of this tool. Of the six options proposed only one, no change, did
not represent any threat light aviation.
The government has recently announced the
results of the consultation and the good news for light aviation is that the '28 day
planning rule' is to remain unchanged. Full
details of the decision can be found in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister news
site. |
