Project Propeller |
|
Project Propeller is an annual fly-in which seeks to provide the opportunity for
ex-World War II aircrew to take to the air once more. Pilots can register themselves and
their aircraft with the organisers, who will then match them up with ex-aircrew from the
local area. Last year's event saw nearly 100 aircraft fly over 200 aircrew to Duxford.
This year's event was scheduled for Saturday 19th May, with the home of the Battle of
Britain Memorial Flight RAF Coningsby as the destination. However, due to the ongoing foot
and mouth crisis the MOD has been forced to cancel. The event is now rescheduled for 9th
June (with 10th as the bad weather reserve), with Duxford as the destination. For more
details, and to register, see the Project Propeller web site. |
