Those
who responded to the draft Surrey County Council Structure Plan (the subject of an A4A alert), will have been notified that the
Examination in Public (EIP) has been delayed. The draft plan is of concern as it seeks, amongst other things, to implement as
policy a blanket ban on any expansion at Redhill, regardless of individual circumstances.
It will also deny any opportunity to open new civil aerodrome facilities in the county.
The review, originally scheduled for November,
has been postponed whilst the council considers the implications of the recently published
Regional Planning Guidance for the South East (RPG9). No new date has yet been set for the
EIP.
Update: 26/01/03
The revised structure plan has now been re-published and is undergoing its public
consultation phase with a deadline for comments of 21/02/03. See the latest A4A alert for details. |
